Why I Prefer Government Jobs
As the child grows it is always a big question about the future career to be adopted by the child. While there are various lucrative private jobs available people in India still admire government jobs and strive to get one not caring about the extreme competition that has to be faced while obtaining one. The first thing that strikes the mind of any one who is opting for government job is the security of the job and standard income for the family which is very highly important in a country like India which is developing and whose population is exploding day by day. In the private sector the authorities can replace any one at any time just by giving minimum compensation. With the population increasing day by day and number of smart graduates and talented workers increasing equally as years pass the privates companies always look forward to replacing the existing employees with fresh talented ones. This puts the job, salary / family income at stake. They have to go search for a new job whenever this happens. Also, a private company could run into losses and be closed at any time. When this happens, again, all its employees have to look for new jobs to sustain themselves. The unemployment is increasing day by day and with no jobs available, losing an existing job and having to search to new one could be a humiliating and tiresome task. Therefore the job security and guarantee of a steady income flow throughout the life of a person with pension being offered after salary is stopped when a person retires, is quite a juicy offer to resist. This makes many people opt eagerly for a government job.
The working hours in government jobs are less when compared to the private sector jobs. They are also comparatively very flexible and no strict and painful rules are enforced regarding this matter. Also there is no proper punishment or regulation to control the employees if they tend to misuse this flexibility of timings to their own credit. While in the private sector jobs there is very strict regulation of timings of the jobs. They could be expelled from the job when the authorities receive continuous reports of indiscipline attendance on the part of a particular employee. The retirement is very smooth in government jobs and the employees are given pension till the day they expire and if the wife of the employee is alive, pension is extended even to her till she expires. Also, if the employees die while still doing the job before retiring, the wife of the employee or any one of his children are given a job as per their qualifications in the same department if there is no one to support the family. Such provisions of financial security are worth to crave for a government job even though the salary is comparatively less when compared to the private sector jobs. Higher level job holders are provided various other luxuries of life as free residence, phone, car facility etc. Overall government jobs give peaceful employment.
