Many are very upset that American Indians have a business advantage as they do not have to comply with all business regulations. Gambling for instance is a huge thorn in the side and upsets many people. Then there are various environmental laws that are not enforced either and even police departments cannot go onto Indian Land without checking in with the head office first, after all it is sovereign land, it is not actually considered part of the US or under our jurisdictions or laws.

In the State of Arizona there have been many problems where Indian Land and perhaps native Americans have been involved that challenges enforcement authorities. For instance, cars had been stolen and taken to Indian Property but authorities could not follow the vehicle onto Indian Land, or the vehicle was taken and stripped on Indian Land, and the car or truck could not be recovered without a major amount of paperwork and time period with the Indian Office.

There have also been problems with drug smugglers coming from Mexico, which used Indian Land to come into the US, then transverse the Indian Land for 50 miles and came out on the other side where no one was around to stop them, as border patrol officers are nowhere near by. It took years to figure this out and instead of catching them, now all authorities can do is follow them until they emerge on the other side to make the bust.

You can see how having two countries in one, creates problems for both, whether it is a law enforcement issue, or a business regulation giving a competitive advantage to one side or the other. Please consider this.

The biggest mistake most make in their careers? Many times the individual will fit themselves into a job rather than finding a job or career that fits them and subsequently fits into their lives.

Career planning makes all the difference. Thinking about what you need at each stage of your career, putting it down on paper, thinking in terms of progress in 3 months to a year to three year intervals and frequently reviewing your progress are all necessary ingredients to planning and developing a satisfying and rewarding career.

It’s no mystery that many people surrender themselves to less than satisfying careers, not working up to their potential and having never fully explored all their options. For example, peer or family pressure guides some into college when entrepreneurship or a technical school education may be better. Others elect college majors or fall into jobs based on the earnings potential and then later find they are unhappy.

Recently a survey revealed that almost half of college-educated workers between the ages of 25 and 50 polled said they would choose a different major if they could do it over. The majority of college graduates will have switched careers at least once, and about one in five expect to switch in the future. Chalk it up to indecisiveness, economic or societal changes, or fate, but more than likely it’s because many didn’t have a plan.

It’s never to late to develop a career plan, even after 50, you can find work in a satisfying and challenging new career.

Regardless of where you are in your career, it’s important to do informational interviews with people in the field or the company you want to enter. Also, expand your research to libraries and the Internet. There are, for example, over 20,000 job titles listed in the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook.

Let’s face it. It’s cheaper to do your career planning up front than stay in the wrong job too long or change college majors halfway through school. Having a documented and well thought out plan early on helps you discover your career-related interests and abilities.

It will also guide you to help identify occupations that match your interests, knowledge and personality. From here you can develop areas in which you need further education and study. What are the demands of the job and how well will you handle the work demands are just some of the questions you need to ask yourself as you research your opportunities.

Whether it’s a first career or a later change in careers, or even a career change after 50, many people have sought out the services of a career counselor or coach. Keep in mind that there aren’t any universal requirements for career coaching. Depending on the state, some counselors must undergo rigorous state licensing requirements and have advanced degrees in counseling or social work. On the other hand, some coaches draw on years of work experience and simply hang out a shingle. Ask around for recommendations if this avenue seems promising. Bottom line: whatever career plan is developed it’s your responsibility to work the plan.

There is nothing wrong with doing the job you really want on the weekends or part-time. You can hold down the job that pays the bills and pursue your entrepreneurial or artistic goals during your off time until you determine how to do it full-time.

Career development and planning is a constant effort and never really ends. Your written goals should look ahead in reasonable blocks of time. Equally important, you do not stop your career planning once you get your dream job. Society and the global economy is constantly changing, you must have a flexible career plan that adapts to whatever comes along. If so, it’s clear you’ll be much better prepared than your peers.

Not all young guy or gal goes through any professional degree course like MBA, CA, Medical etc. There are many who are just not fit for any 9 to 6 job. These people are basically identified as the creative souls. And to be successful in your creative pursuits is a hard job!

The pay scale for such people is real low at the beginning. Now everyone wants to earn money isn’t it? So how does a person with creative instints lead a respectable life? I can’t really give you any Company’s name or site where you can find your perfect job with the perfect salary because such a Company doesn’t exists.

However all I can suggest is you should take life as it comes and not confine yourself to any one media, as they say “Its the world of Multimedia now”. So just go for anything creative that comes your way. Remember never leave a opportunity because seldom does life give you a second chance. However only one thing should be kept in mind that you should be very confident about the path in which you choose to move forward.

Its necessary that you have faith in yourself before the employee developes faith in you.And another important aspect to bulid a successful career is keep valuing yourself.Until you increase your own value believe me no one is going to do it for you.So go for all interviews even if you think you are too young for it or too junior. If you get an oppurtunity just grab it and go ahead!

I am a Graphic Designer cum a copywriter since just 2 years in India and I have grown very fast in these years. My being a Commerce student never hindered my way in the Designing media where it is supposed that Arts is a must.In a way Commerce has helped me not only create anything artistically but also in a way which sells the most. After all money is what everyone wants from any job.

Business rules and regulations are going to vary from state to state, city to city and even county to county. If your in the process of planning or well underway in opening a brick and mortar business then your going to need to sharpen your pencil and do your home work. Small business rules and regulations are getting tougher and tougher for the Mom and Pop operation because they are increasingly geared toward the large corporation or franchise. These business entities have deep pockets and at the swipe of a pen can easily pay for all the new commercial building code bylaws.

When is comes to business rules & regulations you have to be aware that what you see allowed and practiced today may no longer be regulation. Many business’s that have been opened for any period of time are grandfathered in and may not be required to update to current codes. In almost all cases when a business changes hands or opens from scratch, you can count on having to jump through the hoops of updated business rules and regulations to come into compliance to even be issued a business license.

In my own experiences there has been a series of inspections and each of these departments have a different purpose. At a minimum you can count on the building and zoning inspection, the fire department inspection and if your serving food the health department inspection. You will have to pass all of these to be given the green light to open. Be sure to check with your city and they should be very helpful in giving you all the guide lines required to open up your new business from a store front.

Remodeling is a different animal than opening from scratch but the business rules and regulations still apply. This may be even more difficult because your operating and conducting renovations at the same time. Be ready to upgrade any electrical, plumping, handicap and landscaping requirements that may not have been on the books when you opened. Be prepared to have thick skin during this process and you will undoubtedly spend $1,000.’s on what you think is wasteful or unnecessary.

The cost in today’s times to open a business and keep current up with the business rules and regulations can be astronomical. Keep in mind that your are going to spend a fortune while your trying to make one. Be sure to crunch the numbers and figure out how long it will take you to get your seed money back before you even make a dime. This will be a real eye opener when it could take many years to even get back to zero.

My advice to anyone who wants to open a traditional store business, is to really weigh the pro’s and con’s. I believe a home based business is best and you can eliminate the red tape and aggravation of the inspection process, not to mention the over head. Even tough self employment may be your thing, there may be alternate ways to earn a great livelihood with out the wasteful cost of business rules and regulation.

Having a career plan is a useful tool to monitor your career progress. It cannot be overemphasized the importance of having a realistic workable career plan. The operative words here are that you work the plan. You monitor your career progress and over time you make adjustments to your career plan as circumstances change.

Following are some basic ideas laid out for you to start planning and managing your career. Working on a career plan means you have to spend time understanding and organizing yourself. Your career goal is to maximize you skills, talents and abilities. Reflecting on your unique set of skills, strengths and limitations and how they change is time never wasted. Thinking about these things leads to a certain lucidity so when future opportunities are presented you can quickly make good choices.

Rapid changes in the economy, in the nature of work and organizations have complicated the career planning process. Gone are the days when many career plans looked like steps on a staircase. Predictable step by step career plans can’t now be relied on and you must plan for greater flexibility with more frequent review and analysis of your progress and situation.

Look around, often those who are most skilled in managing their career and maximizing opportunities get the promotions and the best jobs. Let’s see if we can help vault you into that group so you can manage your career progress through a well thought out career plan.

The foundation of your career plan has to be based on your understanding of who you are, what is important to you and your ideas and hopes for the future. This detailed understanding will help you to begin the process of developing your career plan.

Answering the following simple questions will get you started. In the past did you change jobs? If so why? What are the noteworthy influences in your life? How have these influences affected your career?

Now examine your skills. What are your major skills? What are your principal strengths? What limitations do you have? List your successes and failures. Do you have any underdeveloped talents? What are they? What are your wishes and dreams? Where do you see yourself in the near future, longer term?

Now look at what options do you have to make changes in your career plan. Is there a large gap that you need to start working on or do you need to make smaller improvements a number of factors? Write out your goals to your career plan. Keep each item measurable in both the short and longer term. If for example, your need a course in self-study, and plan on reading 48 books in the next two years, your career plan would be to read two books a month.

One career planning area that many find productive is to increase your satisfaction on you current job. Look around, is there an opportunity to undertake a new project, participate in a job swap, look for new responsibilities, come up with new ways to do things, go out of your way to mentor others, or even look at part-time or flexible employment.

The other main area in career planning is to change yourself by learning new skills or updating others or resetting your expectations and possibly reexamining present attitudes. You could take some additional courses at a local college, start a program of self-study, work at developing additional mentors or contact a career coach. All will move you toward achieving you career goals and making your career plans a reality.

Finally after you’ve looked internally for career opportunities and found nothing but dead ends, you may have to look elsewhere to advance your career. Examine your current situation critically when making plans to change employers. Develop creative solutions to ensure as close a match as possible between what you have planned for your career and what might be available. If you have gaps in your skills plan to get them closed, if you have to learn new skills get on a training and study program, begin studying writing and updating your resume and begin learning the latest in interviewing and job hunting techniques.

The right job may not be available at the right time. You may have to think beyond job opportunities that offer a promotion or increase in salary so don’t overlook a sideways move or a job which will give you experience or increase you career satisfaction.

Thousands of employers post jobs online, and each company is a unique organization. To optimize your prospects for success, you must pick an employer that has the right opportunity for you and a management style and culture where you’ll be comfortable.Making a career map can be beneficial at any stage of the game for many of us. If you’re just entering/re-entering the workplace, or perhaps been in the fray for decades, career mapping can prove to be an invaluable tool. Particularly if you are thinking of switching fields.

Below are several ways you can pinpoint the right employer for you:

1- Ask friends and colleagues to name the two or three best companies in your area.

2-Check the local Chamber of Commerce Web site to see which companies have received awards.

3- Search online to find press releases by and about companies in your area.

4- Check the online archives of your local newspaper to see which companies are making the news.

Once you’ve identified a few top prospects, visit their corporate Web sites. Many employers now host career sections where you can research their working environment, approach to employee development, reward structure, commitment to diversity and other factors that will determine how well you will fit in.

Try to complete the activities mention above. Do one, and you’ll improve your job search performance. Do them all, and you’ll be well on your way to capturing your dream job. And don’t forget that you must have strong confidence to achieve it.

Just after leaving school or college with or without a degree pinned to our well tailored blazer, we immediately dream of filling the chairman’s chair in a multinational company, eager to preside over the board meeting and take part in the all too pleasant tea party. No, there is nothing wrong with it. We greenhorns, all do that during some part of our early youth. Save and except, that it does not happen that way, however we may blame the dream machine. We need a job opportunity to start our careers off.

Well then, what next? Desperate search for a job opportunity do not yield a promising job overnight nor are employers looking eagerly to take us on employment as soon as the resume reaches their table. However, like dark ominous clouds having brilliant silver linings, a job opportunity is certainly there only if we seek for it. If you go on researching jobs online, you may be amazed at the number of job opportunity behind seemingly hopeless situations. A modestly satisfying job may be only a mouse away if you try hard. But don’t try to jump the steps all at once because you may slip and fall down, causing more injury to your career than you could think of.

Only the other day I asked my 17 year old daughter who was on the point of graduating the kind of job opportunity she was looking for. You know how she responded – her immediate aim was to head a large million dollar corporation like the IBM or General Motors, directing them for better operations. I was dumbstruck. Looking squarely in the eyes, I muttered that she was crazy. And that first of all she needed a master’s degree to merely get an entry into such global outfits and then gradually work her way up. She changed the topic. Are all teens like this? I do not think so. We have a special one here.

One way of finding a job opportunity is to go online and pop up Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com. These are easy to navigate websites with nation wide associates and world-wide connections. But simply opening the sites would not help. To aspire for the right job one has to punch all the relevant data in the format specially designed for the purpose and then await results. There are other avenues as well. Such as using the reach of the world-wide-web to send your resume to many potential employers.

Haven’t been promoted after working for the same company for ages? No need to feel jealous at your colleague with better career. He/she might deserve it.

What about you? Look into yourself. Evaluate your work. How do you rate yourself in terms of job? Have you been performing well? Or, not?

Maybe it’s time for you to do ‘more’ than usual. You might think that you have done it up to the maximum level. But, it’s not for you to judge. It’s your supervisor’s job.

So, what to do to change their opinion about you? How to make them give you the opportunity to get the promotion?

Try these below tips:

1. Understand your pluses

What are you goon at doing? Is the job you are currently doing related to your skill? Or, it is not something you’re good at? There is a possibility that you haven’t got the promotion because you are placed in the wrong position. You are not good at marketing, yet you have to sell products. You might be good in writing, yet you are working as an HRD staff. If you have understood your capability, it is easier for you to get a job in which you can be the best.

2. Never stop learning

You have found out what you are good at doing. Yet, you stop there. You get satisfied easily. This is completely wrong. You must keep learning no matter what. Get more knowledge and skill by joining some workshops or courses. Don’t get satisfied easily!

3. Commitment, sense of belonging and hard work

Try to commit to do the best for the company. Build a sense of belonging towards the company. If you have done those two, it will be easier for you to work hard. Because, no matter what you do, it will have an impact on the company and eventually will have an impact on you, the employee.

Industrialization is the process of manufacturing consumer goods and capital goods and of creating social overhead capital in order to provide goods and services to both individuals and businesses. As such industrialization plays a major role in the economic development of LDCs (Less Developed Country).

Industrialization is a pre-requisite for economic development as the history of advanced countries shows. For development, the share of the industrial sector should rise and that of the agricultural sector decline. This is only possible through a policy of deliberate industrialization. As a result, the benefits of industrialization will “trickle down” to the other sectors of the economy in the form of the development of agricultural and service sectors leading to the rise in employment, output and income.

In overpopulated LDCs there is overcrowding on the land, holdings are subdivided and fragmented, and farmers practice traditional agriculture. For rapid development, LDC’s cannot afford to wait for changes in farm practices to take place. Therefore. LDCs must begin with industrial development to supply fertilizers, farm machinery and other inputs so as to increase efficiency on the farm. Again, industrialization is necessary in order to provide employment to the underemployed and unemployed in the agricultural sector. In overpopulated LDCs, large number of people are underemployed or disguised unemployed whose marginal product is zero or negligible. They can be transferred from agriculture to industry with little or no loss in agricultural output. Since the marginal product of labor is higher in industry than in agriculture, transferring such workers to the industrial sector will raise aggregate output. Thus overpopulated LDCs have no choice but to industrialize.

Industrialization is also essential in LDCs because it brings increasing returns and economies of scale while agriculture does not. “These economies reside in training, stimulating communication, interaction within industry (inter-sectoral linkages), demonstration effects in production and consumption, and so on. Rural society tends to be stagnant, urban society dynamic. Since industrialization brings urbanization, it is superior to the stimulation of agriculture.”

Further the LDCs need industrialization to free themselves from the adverse effects of fluctuations in the prices of primary products and deterioration in their terms of trade. Such countries mainly export primary products and import manufactured goods. The prices of primary products have been falling or remaining stable due to protectionist policies of advanced countries, while the prices of manufactures have been rising. This has led to deterioration in the terms of trade of the LDCs. For economic development, such countries must shake off their dependence on primary product. They should adopt import substituting and export-oriented industrialization.

The case for industrialization in the LDCs also rests on the psychological boost which such a polio provides in their citizens in marching towards modernization. Industrialization is viewed as a mater of pride by every LDC, for it implies using the new technology, new and diverse skills, larger enterprises and more large cities. Moreover incomes rise rapidly in the industrial sector which are saved and invested for creating more demand for goods and services. Since industrialization is followed by urbanization, employment opportunities and incomes increase.

People enjoy the fruits of modernization in the form of a variety of goods and services available in urban centers due to industrialization. These also affect the rural sector through the demonstration effect. Thus industrialization tends to raise the living standards and promotes social welfare.

Finally, industrialization brings social transformation, social equality, more equitable distribution of income and balanced regional development in the process of economic development. The policy of industrialization followed by the LDCs in the early phase of their development has not brought the expected economic and social benefits. It has failed to reduce in equalities of income and wealth, unemployment, and regional imbalances. Even the pace of development has been uneven with the neglect of the growth of other sectors.

Moreover, industrialization has created such serious problems as: (1) rural stagnation, (2) the mushrooming growth of the urban underclass, (3) education poorly geared to the development needs, (4) organizational power failures in government bureaucracies, and (5) excessively high rates of growth of the population and the labor force. Therefore, economists have veered round to the view that there is no basis for the argument that development should be launched with industrialization. Rather, the process of development should be interwoven with the harmonious growth of agriculture and industry. In fact, in most LDCs successful industrialization has been supported by sustained agricultural development.
